No real point in mentioning Songbird as an iTunes alternative, I’m afraid. They stopped supporting iPod since version 1.2, current version is 1.8

I love to use iTunes and Nokia Ovi Player! Though I am new to many things in this list! Thanks for sharing!
Nice alternatives. I would say even windows media 11 is a good alternative for itunes
CopyTrans is quite good. I have Winamp but am having trouble getting it to recognize my new Ipod touch… I absolutely HATE Itunes and I won’t use it nor will i install it. That makes it difficult to manuever this new Ipod. Why, Why, Why do they put all those restrictions on using an Ipod thru Itunes. It doesn’t make any sense to me. I got an Ipod as a gift (used- as a friend got a new one and was kind enough to pass the older one onto me) and I’m required to wipe it clean to “sync” it (if I go thru Itunes). They don’t give you any other way or alternative to keep whats on there now. I find that unfair and how dare they tell me how i can use / keep my own music? Know what I mean? I wanted to move the songs on there to my pc and start new. Nope- can’t do that with Itunes. So I’m forced to look at other apps.
Nice alternatives, but still iTunes has got a different standard.
Great article, but as of ios 5 NONE OF THEM WORK. I am kicking myself that I let Apple upgrade my iphone to the latest. itunes erased all of my songs now I CAN’T get them back on. It will only allow me to transfer my ENTIRE library (which is way too big) or nothing at all. I can’t get the photos or videos off my phone and they’re taking up space.
What the hell? Why can’t I just drag and drop this stuff off?! Why do I have to spend hours working on this. I use incredibly sophisticated software that I have no formal training in just fine but any Apple product is a ridiculously convoluted piece of shit!
Nice Review. Personally I prefer copyTransManager. There is an extensive list of softwares both free and paid. As far as i have tested, all the free softwares work well too. But it cannot copy files from iPod to computer.
