BlackBerry has announced the launch of BBM Channels for BlackBerry OS 5 and above. BBM Channels was in beta since its debut in the month of May. If you are unaware, BBM channel lets you to create a page as per your like and interest and allow other BlackBerry smartphone users to follow.
BBM Channels is community based, where you can interact with real conversation between other people, brands and communities. To get access to BBM Channels users will be required to update to the newest version of BBM via BlackBerry World. BlackBerry ID is required to sign into BBM Channels.
To find Channels of your interests and join the conversation on BBM, you will have to open BBM and tap the menu icon in the bottom-left corner followed by the option of selecting Channels. You will get a list of featured channels and posts which can interest you.
Post messages on your Channel, allow comments, approve comments, start a discussion, share pictures, chat with your subscribers directly, views stats of your Channel and more. Send invite to friends who are BBM contacts to join your Channel.
Administrators of the Channels can manage their page through their smartphone or the browser-based BBM Channels Manager console. BBM Channels will enable BlackBerry users the chance to try various Channels and build communities, communities can be built by starting their own Channel or by making new contacts on other Channels.
BBM Channels is not available for Android or iPhone users yet, however they can create a channel by using BlackBerry ID email address.
