Facebook official iOS app is designed using HTLM5 and has faced criticism from users of being slow and has been given a very poor rating at App Store.
However, now two Facebook engineers who have requested to be unnamed for obvious reasons has confirmed that that a rebuilt Facebook for iOS app is coming next month in July with higher speed. The coming up version of is app is essentially an Objective-C shell with a Web browser inside. The UI of the app will be the same but the technology used will be changed.Objective-C-Shell technology is used in developing iOS apps.
The engineers further confirm that Facebook iOS app is going to be really fast and is going to use the iPhone hardware. The use of Objective C in the app will boost its speed as he says,” When it comes to speed, this is like putting the engine of a Smart Car in the body of a Ferrari.
They have seen the yet-to-be released app and is blazing fast.Currently,Facebook developers are testing the app and will be out soon.
Facebook is undergoing a major overhaul and has also added “Find Friends Nearby” feature for iOS and Android devices.
If the reports of The New York Times are true then very soon we will find the much desired increase in the performance of the app. However, there is no any official announcement from Facebook.
