Google has declared in its official blog that it has acquired Slide by coughing out $182 million and it is also paying an extra of $46 million to retain the employees of Slide.[ad#Infolinks]
Slide is a social technology company which connects people online.Google says that it wants to “build a more social web” and wants to expand its services socially and we can expect some web apps which will be ready to take on Facebook.
Google is yet to declare a detailed plan.I hope everything goes fine!

google is planning something big this time..
So many social sites that we are already inundated with and here comes Mr G to further complicate things. Don’t get me wrong, I love Mr G but sometimes I just think that they want to “grab” as much as they possibly can to maintain their dominant presence on the web. This is probably an attempt to cool off FaceBook and I can see why they are committed to it. Anyway, we’ll see how it goes. Pity I did not own “Slide”, lol
