Apple released iOS 6.0.1 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and you can jailbreak your device running on iOS 6.0.1 using latest version of Redsnow by iPhone Dev Team.
Devices supported are iPhone 4 CDMA, iPhone 4 GSM, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 4G.
Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 has support only for tethered jailbreak which means that you will have to connect your device to computer on every reboot.
How to jailbreak iOS 6.0.1
Download Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 . Extract the Redsn0w file by double-clicking on the folder and launch Redsn0w.
Download iOS 6.0.1 firmware file for your device.
After launching Redsn0w , click on “Extras” button.
Click on “Select IPSW” button. Navigate and select the iOS 6.0.1 firmware file which you download in earlier setp.
Now, go back to main page of Redsn0w and click on “Jailbreak” button.
Your device will now have to enter DFU Mode. Redsn0w will guide you with instructions –
* Hold down Power (corner) button for 5 seconds.
* Without releasing the Power button, also hold down the Home (bottom center) button along with the Power button for 10 seconds.
* Without releasing the home button, stop holding down the power button for up to 15 seconds.
Redsn0w will start prepairing jailbreak data of your iOS 6 firmware.
You will have to select “Cydia” and click on “Next” button to continue with jailbreak process.
Once your device is jailbroken it will enter reboot again.
For tethered boot – Launch RedSn0w >> Extras >> Select IPSW >> Select iOS 6 firmware >> Just Boot button.
Your device is jailbroken on iOS 6.0.1.
