Samsung Announces Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ Along With Samsung Pay

Samsung has finally announced its latest flagship smartphones: the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+ in the New York City, US with similar features. Both smartphones sports larger 5.7 inch displays, airplane grade metal based crafted body, advanced battery charging and more.

Galaxy Note 5 features a 5.7-inch super AMOLED QHD (2560x1440p) display, powered by Exynos 7420 octa core CPU, 4 GB RAM, packed with a 3000 mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It will be available in 32 GB and 64 GB storage options. The smartphone features a 16 megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture sensor which is capable of recording 2160p videos along with the support to livestream 1080p to YouTube. It also has a 5 megapixel front camera with f/1.9 aperture.

Galaxy S6 Edge+ seems to be a bigger version of Galaxy S6 Edge with dual-edge display. The smartphone comes with 4GB LPDDR 4 series RAM, 32GB/64GB inbuilt memory, 16MPrear camera and a 5MP snapper on the front. It comes packed with a 3000 mAh battery.

Samsung Pay

Samsung has also launched its mobile payment system which is safe and secure. People will be able to make payment from their smartphones to buy various products from a physical store. Samsung Pay is different from Apple Pay as it uses Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) instead of Near Field Communication (NFC) to make payments.

Samsung Pay will launched in South Korea first in August and in the US on 28 September. Samsung Pay will partner with major banks and credit card companies which includes Bank of America, U.S. Bank. Credit card companies are Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ Availability

The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ will hit the stores on 21st of August, 2015 in Black Sapphire, White Pearl, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium colors. Pre-orders for both the smartphones will begin today from all the major carriers including Sprint, Verizon, At&t, T-Mobile and US Cellular. the price of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 on-contract is expected to be around $299, while off-contract will be $800-900.
