Skyfire flash enabled browser submitted to App Store

On September 3rd, 2010 By

Skyfire is a popular browser which is already running on Android phones.

Now Skyfire has submitted its mobile browser to Apple’s App store for acceptance and the dev team is confident that it will be accepted. The browser is very fast and has the capability of playing flash video and encodes Flash into HTML5 in real time.If the browser is approved then Apple users can play million of flash videos on their Apple devices without jailbreaking/unlocking their devices.

Steve Jobs has a dislike towards Flash as it has poor security, its performance on mobile device is poor and kills battery.

Skyfire browser has the capability of playing flash video every 3 seconds and the data of video is compressed by 75%.We will have to wait to see that whether Skyfire is able to bring Flash video to Apple’s mobile devices or not?

This browser seems to be good. I never tried it on my Android because I prefer default browser but after reading this post I’m going to try out this browser.
It’s good if it compresses content to 75% percent. Opera on the other hand compresses upto 90% but on some sites its visibility is very poor.

This browser seems to be a very good choice for Android users. One of my friends recently bought an Android phone, so I will recommend this one to him. Thanks for the share Shabnam.
