If you are planning to buy a new iPhone SE or iPhone 6s for yourself it is better to get an insurance cover to protect your iPhone in case something happens to your device.
There are several options available for iPhone insurance which includes AppleCare+, SquareTrade, Carrier insurance and credit card purchase protection.

Best Apple iPhone Insurance- AppleCare+, SquareTrade Or Others
1. AppleCare+
Every iPhone which you purchase from Apple or a retailer comes with one year of limited hardware repair coverage and ninety days complimentary phone support called Apple Care.
AppleCare+ extends the iPhone hardware warranty from one year to two years and you will have to purchase AppleCare+ at the time of purchase of iPhone or within 60 days of purchasing the device. You will be required to bring your iPhone at an Apple Retail Store for inspection or conduct a remote test to proof the purchase of iPhone.
AppleCare+ for iPhone SE, iPhone 6 or earlier models will cost you $99.00 and provides two years of coverage. You will receive two accidental claims to replace your iPhone in case the screen gets cracked or you damage the phone by accidentally dropping in water. One accidental damage claim for the iPhone SE requires a $79 service fee whereas it is $99 fee for the iPhone 6s/6s Plus. One thing to remember that AppleCare+ does not provide any protection against theft or loss of iPhone.
You can either take your iPhone to the Apple Retail Store to get it serviced or mail your iPhone.
2. SquareTrade
SquareTrade is a third-party insurance for iPhone which is similar to AppleCare+. It offers three years of coverage for $139 ($4/month), two years for $119 ($5 per month) or one year for $69 ($6 per month). All of the plans get renew automatically for $69 yearly.
You will have to pay $99 deductible on claims.
SquareTrade covers your iPhone for drops, spills, and malfunctions and offers free two-way shipping. They don;t have any retail outlets for getting it fixed in the Store as found in the case of AppleCare+.
SquareTrade also reimburses you in case you take your iPhone to Apple Genius bar or a third-party repair shop to get it fixed.
Just like AppleCare+, SquareTrade does not cover the loss or theft of your iPhone.
3. Carrier Insurance AT&T, Verizon & Sprint
Users who bought the latest iPhone can opt for Mobile Insurance via AT&T by making a monthly premium of $6.99 which includes replacement of lost, stolen, malfunction or damaged iPhone. Your device will be replaced next day once your claim is approved. You will have to pay deductibles on claims and can cancel the insurance coverage and get a refund.
Verizon offers four different equipment protection programs and you will have to sign up for equipment protection within 30 days of purchasing a new device.
Total Mobile Protection will cost you $11/month per device, $99-$199 non-refundable deductibles per approved claim for devices lost, stolen or damaged and you will be getting two replacements in a 12-months with an equipment maximum of $1500 per claim.
Sprint Total Equipment Protection will cost you $9-$11 monthly with protection against loss, theft, damage and malfunction with the replacement of device next day.
4. Credit Card Purchase Protection
Various Credit Card companies like American Express, Visa or MasterCard provide credit card purchase protection against theft or accidental damage for a limited time. You will have to contact credit card provider to find about how your purchases are covered.
