Earlier last month iH8sn0w, who is the guy behind Sn0wbreeze developed iFaith which enables users to save SHSH blobs of old firmwares which Apple has closed signing.
iH8sn0w has released an update to iFaith for Windows version which is available for a download and it is expected that Mac version of iFaith will also be released soon.
TinyUmbrella enables users to save SHSH blobs of iOS that Apple is signing by contacting server of Apple whereas with iFaith you can save SHSH blobs if Apple has stopped signing for it.
Reports claim that Apple is closing saving SHSH Blobs and hence downgrade iOS 5 will not be possible.
iFaith supports following idevices – iPod Touch 4G, 3G,iPhone 4, 3GS,iPad and AppleTV 2G.However, there is no support for iPad 2.
If you want to know how to save SHSH blobs of your iPhone,iPod Touch or iPad 1 using iFaith you can refer here.
What is new in iFaith 1.1:
* Code improvement.
* iFaith now SHA1’s the SHSH blob.
* Now alerts user when iFaith was unable to hook iTunes instead of crashing.
* Minor Bug fixes with device/iOS detection.
* Mac version is going to proceed into development shortly (so don’t bother asking about it).
