Use iPhone With A Broken Power Button – Here’s How To

Are you stuck up with a broken Power Button on your iPhone? A Power Button is important to switch off or switch on iPhone, lock screen or take a screenshot.

Breaking of Power Button in iPhone is not common and can be really frustrating for users. If your iPhone is in warranty you can take it to Apple Store to repair the Power Button for free, if warranty is over you will have to pay for the cost of the repair.

 

But if you don’t want to pay for the repair of broken Power Button, with a broken Power Button you can still use your iPhone to lock screen, switch off, switch on or take screenshots, here’s how to.

Use iPhone With A Broken Power Button

1. Lock screen

If your iPhone Power Button is broken or not working to lock screen you will have to enable the ‘AssistiveTouch’ option.

Go to “Home Screen” and then to “Settings”.

Tap on “General”.

Scroll down and tap on “Accessibility” at the bottom.

Enable the switch for “AssistiveTouch”.

Tap on the “AssistiveTouch”, then tap “Device” and tap “Lock Screen”.

2. Switch Off

To switch off iPhone with a broken Power Button enable “AssistiveTouch” by going to the Settings >> General >> Accessibility >> AssistiveTouch.

Now, Tap on the “AssistiveTouch” then tap “Device” and then tap and hold on “Lock Screen” until “Slide to Power Off” screen appears, slide to switch off iPhone.

3. Switch On

To switch on iPhone without Power Button, you will have to connect your device to iTunes by using your PC or Mac.

4. Take Screenshot

To take a screenshot you will have to enable “AssistiveTouch” by going to the Settings >> General >> Accessibility >> AssistiveTouch.

Once in AssistiveTouch tap on “Device” and then tap on “More”. Tap on “screenshot” to take screenshot of the screen.
