1. Recent Apps Screen
The recent apps screen interface has been launched with a totally different interface as compared to MIUI 9. - Swiping from either left or right to go back instantly
- Swiping from either left or right and hold for switching to other apps in the recent apps.
Despite the presence of physical navigation in all Xiaomi phones, if the users get habitual to these provided gestures, there will be no need to get in touch with the physical navigation option anytime.
3. User Interface Design updates
Notification shade has been made rounded similar to just like the design interface of Android P. Updates in the Quick ogles area can be noticed which is provided with rounded corners and white backgrounds. The notification shade also consists of a brightness bar in place of the slider for adjusting up the brightness in no time. Volume bar has also been made updated with a vertical bar in place of the horizontal sliders. 8. Picture-in-Picture (PIP) Mode update
A full-fledged picture in picture mode has been updated allowing the users to use various apps at the same time such as viewing of apps while WhatsApp texting or even watching videos as well while checking the e-mail. The feature has been there in the older MIUI 8 and MIUI 9 as well but the support was only for the videos played via Mi browser. It has been updated in MIUI 10 and made full on.
9. A warm welcome of Lite mode feature
Lite mode feature was being used with the Mi powered smartphones earlier in MIUI 7 version. The feature was made equipped with the facility to enlarge text and image sizes and thereby enabling the old aged people to easily watch and manage the stuff over their phone. The later update of Mi removed this feature but the latest update i.e. MIUI 10 this back again with this feature after getting huge demands from the public.
10. Driving Mode
The MIUI 10 comes with a new Driving Mode feature for distraction-free driving hands free. The Driving Mode will use the Virtual Assistant, XiaoAI to take phone calls, map navigation and more.
11. Theme, sound and wallpaper updates
Unlike the advanced features available in MIUI 9, the live icon animations have been added in the MIUI 10 under the Themes category. More notification sounds have been added which can be noticed in the Delete option as well. Emphasis has been made on nature-inspired sounds in this update. A number of wallpapers have also been updated in MIUI 10.
