iMessage is one of the most popular messaging service for iPhone users. However, at times while using iMessage on iPhone you may get “iMessage waiting for activation” error. The error can be fixed by following one of the below mentioned methods.

1. Check Time and Date on iPhone

Make sure that time and date on your iPhone is correct, else you will get the error. Go to the “Settings”, select “General” and then to “Date and Time”. Now, set the Date and Time to “Set Automatically”.

2. Reset Network Settings

If you are getting iMessage Waiting for Activation error try to Reset Network Settings.

Open “Settings”.

Tap on “General” and then on “Reset”.

Now, Click on “Reset Network Settings”.

iPhone will reboot, try to connect to WiFi again and start iMessage.

3. Airplane Mode

Try to toggle with Airplane Mode to see if it fixes the iMessage issue.

Go to the “Settings” on iPhone.

Enable Airplane mode on iPhone, Wi-Fi will be turned off automatically.

Turn off your iMessage and FaceTime.

Turn On Wi-Fi now.

Go back and Turn on iMessages.

Add your Apple id, if not added already.

Go to the Settings and Turn Off Airplane mode.

You will get a notification saying “Your carrier may charge for SMS” Tap OK.

iMessage will get activated.

4. Apple ID Sign-out, Sign-in

By sign-out Apple and then Sign-in, you may be able to solve iMessage “Waiting for Activation” Error.

Go to the “Settings” then tap on “Messages”.

Tap on “Send & Receive”.

Tap on your “Apple id” and then select the option “Sign Out”.

Turn Off iMessages.

Wait for for some time and then login in with your Apple id.

Enable iMessages and see if everything working fine.

5. Reset Location and Privacy Settings

If the issue is persisting, you will have to reset location and privacy settings on iPhone.

Go to the “Settings” on your iPhone.

Scroll down to select “General” and then choose “Reset” option.

Tap on “Reset Location & Privacy”.

Enter your passcode and follow the onscreen instructions.
