1.  Backup your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch 

Take a backup of your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch before updating your device to the latest iOS in case things don’t work out well. You can take a backup of iPhone, iPad using iTunes or iCloud.

Take A Back Up Of iPhone Using iTunes 

To take a backup of your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, connect your device to Mac/PC via USB cable.

Now, launch iTunes. Wait till iTunes detects your device.

Once iTunes detects your device, select Back Up. Set  Back Up to This Computer.

Take a Back Up of music,  photos, videos, apps and other data.

To take an automatic backup of iPhone, iPad using iCloud.

Launch the Settings app on your iPhone, iPad

Tap on iCloud. Login to your iCloud account, if not logged in.

Scroll down and tap on Backup.

2. Free up Space on iOS Device

If you running low in space it is advisable to free up space on your device to install the latest iOS update. Make sure to delete unwanted games and apps if you are having 16 GB iPhone,  iOS update will take more than 1GB of your device space. Delete unused apps by going to Settings >> Usage >> tap on the app not needed  and tap on“Delete App”.

 

3.  Install the latest Version of iTunes 

Install the latest version of iTunes on your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

 

4.  How To Install the iOS Update 

The latest iOS 9.3 update can be installed OTA or manually via iTunes. Installing iOS update via iTunes is ideal for advanced iOS users.

Make sure to backup everything before you ahead to install iOS update manually on your device.

Launch the “Settings” app and go to “General” then to “Software Update”.

Install the latest IPSW via iTunes

Connect your device to your computer using USB cable.

Select the device in iTunes.

Windows users  hold down “SHIFT” key and then click on “Update” whereas, Mac users hold down the “Option” key and then click on “Update”.

Select the “IPSW file” you downloaded and click “Choose”.

Wait for some time till your device gets updated.

 

5.  Jailbreakers 

Jailbreakers should avoid updating iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch to iOS 9.3. Currently there is no public jailbreak release for iOS 9.2 to iOS 9.3 devices. Pangu has released Jailbreak iOS 9.1 with no public release for iOS 9.2, 9.2.1 and 9.3 devices by any hacker.
